Half a year
It’s been a little more than 6 months since we started this journey so we figured it’s a good time to tell you how it all started. Cupful of Stories is a heartfelt project our founders, Andreea and Alexandra, thought of during a late autumn evening.
They were planning the details of the 2026 Reading Retreat (more about that further down) and they got so excited about the surprise book and accessories that it made them want to orchestrate more surprises!
They enjoy making reading a ritual of relaxation and calm and regularly choose their next reads based on the vibe, not necessarily the author, book title or book cover.
Individual Blind Dates, bundles and subscriptions
We’ve revisited a bit the structure of our blind dates and we’re focusing more on the book than the accessories. That enables us to offer you a fixed, lower price rather than a fluctuating one. We will continue to have many bookish accessories on our website that you can purchase separately.
We’re also launching bundles: you can order 3-book or 6-book bundles that will be delivered to you through a single shipment. Perfect for catching up with past blind dates or for your book club.
Subscriptions will remain available as a mechanism for your to order future blind dates. 
Shipping Updates
Unfortunately, due to new EU regulations (PPWR - Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, together with EPR - Extended Producer Responsibility), at least for now, we will not be able to ship outside of Czech Republic . While these regulations are well intended, in the way they are currently implemented they make it almost impossible for small shops to comply and stay in business.
We hope that the regulations will be adjusted to account for small shops by enabling easy, standard ways to report packaging and pay for its disposal.
Reading Retreat
In May, we had our first Reading Retreat, set in the Cesky Raj area of Czech Republic. We spend a relaxing weekend reading, chatting, enjoying each other’s cooking, some spa. Do you want to join us for the next ones? Save the dates for 2027:
